It’s no secret that people take items from their hotel rooms. Perhaps feeling entitled to them because they’ve paid upwards of $200 per night, guests are taking everything from paper pads to TVs. A study by travel website travel24.com has revealed that individuals who have completed a higher education degree, staying at a 4-star hotel tend to steal items more frequently than the other demographic categories. The website’s research focused on German tourists and it is quite revealing!
To be honest, I’m not surprised. When I stay in hotels, I often keep the note paper pads because they’re useful as backup in my backpack or to use at the desk in my office. I have noticed that the number of pages seem to vary. Many hotels I stay at seem to have a mere 5 pages. Perhaps it’s due to so many people taking them when they leave. Fewer pages means the hotel offers the convenience but cuts costs.
