Louwana Creek is the latest fashion boutique on posh Laurier Street in Montreal (Outremont). Specializing in luxury activewear for women, Louwana Creek is a spacious, minimalist but classy space, boasting artwork from Julie Couture and a lovely tea bar nook at the back of the store.
Luxury Active Wear Brands
The selection of brands is impressive and carefully curated by owner Fannie Charon to help you look your yoga best. From the subdued neutral hues of Melissa Nepton, to more daring and colourful items by Industry, Louanna Creek carries over 20 luxury activewear labels, including Karma, Alo Yoga, Vimmia, S’well Bottles, Koral, Bella Lux, Sundry, Poetry in Motion, Lole (bien sur!) and Rains (my favourite!), to name a few. The majority of brands are North American, with a few European lines.
Undergarments
The boutique also sells undergarments, ranging from sexy to efficient and cool Climawear bras, and even carries merino wool socks. I also spent quite a bit of time admiring the latest Stella McCartney Adidas running shoes – simply gorgeous!
Jewelry & Accessories
Spread around the space, you will find a number of jewelry and accessory items, such as yoga beads, mats and blocks as well as a colourful selection of water bottles and high quality products for mat and bottle cleaning, which can be hard to find.
Private Label Coming Soon!
Finally, Louwana Creek is currently developing a private label collection with local designers and artisans. My favourite item is the deliciously soft, 100% unbleached cotton, native blanket and Fannie tells me that there’s more on the way. She explained that these are treats for the customers, focusing on luxurious comfort, and supporting local trade. Can’t wait to see what she has coming up!
At Louwana Creek you can find stylish activewear to hit the mat and then grab a healthy lunch with your girlfriends down the street. This retail shop is not for everyone (e.g., a simple white blouse by Rabens Saloner is $245) but it serves an upscale niche market. Tap into the Gwyneth inside you and go check it out!
