DJ Miss Behavin’

DJ Miss Behavin’

DJ Miss Behavin’ is from the UK and ranked among the top 3 Female DJs on the planet. Her hectic schedule takes her from her London home to Ibiza every summer and to stops around the globe during the rest of the year. My first experience with Miss Behavin’ was on Ibiza Uncovered 2000 (on E! and VH1) and CitynetMagazine Mag is proud to present her.

Citynet Magazine: Describe your youth.

DJ Miss Behavin’: I was ‘hyperactive’ as a child! Really into sports and totally into music!!

How did you get into DJing?

To begin with DJing was just a hobby, I was quite happy as a ‘bedroom dj’ until one day a mate of mine was playing at this massive rave to 3000 people… He drunk one too many beers, and I was forced on the decks to take over!! I had never played out before, I was so nervous, but I’ve been addicted to DJing ever since!!

”…my wildest experience was a trip to Manumission on an all girl holiday to Ibiza!! I can’t really remember much after losing my shoe!!…”Are Miss Behavin’ and Niki 2 different personas?

Yes defiantly it has to be that way!! I run my own business, its a female dj agency (www.flipsidedjs.com) Plug! Plug!! so anyway Niki is sensible & business minded on weekdays but at the weekends Miss Behavin’ really lets her hair down, I can be a bit of a party girl when I want to be!

Have people recognized you based on your ‘celebrity status’?

Sometimes, mainly at airports or in record shops.

Favourite place on the planet to DJ?

Ibiza.

How competitive is the female DJ market?

No I wouldn’t say the female dj market is competitive at the moment, as I’d say there is more work on offer for female djs, more than female djs if that makes sense!! But won’t be for long… there are hundreds of talented girls breaking through now.

Favourite vacation spot?

Cape Town is wonderful, but I’m off to New Zealand in a few months, and I know I’m just gonna love it there, I’ve always wanted to go!

It’s 12:01pm. What are you doing?

Getting out of bed or having breakfast!!

What has been the best experience on the job?

Far too many too mention!!

What has been the worst experience on the job?

I love my job, but the travelling really gets me down… airports are a nightmare!!

What’s the most common question that people ask you?

Are you okay? You look really tired!!!

What do you want the world to know about you?

I can scoff a whole packet of Maryland chocolate chip cookies with one cup of tea, no problem!

Choose any 3 words to describe yourself.

Ambitious, independent & scatty [Scatterbrained]

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?

To reach all my goals in life. 6 achieved, so only 5084 to go!!

Do you wear any specific type of clothing to DJ?

Its hard to wear high heels & skirts when working, so I normally go for the trendy option, funky boots, jeans & strappy number!!

How hard do you party?

Yes sometimes I party Hard…….. my wildest experience was a trip to Manumission on an all girl holiday to Ibiza!! I can’t really remember much after losing my shoe!!

A day spa. A flight in a F-15 fighter jet. Passionate animal-like sex. Choose one.

Definitely a flight in a F-15 fighter jet!!! Adrenaline Rush…Yeah love it!!!

Fav body part on men?

Mmmm Shoulders definitely!!

…and on your own body?

Ears, they are like little cauliflowers!!

Bad boys or nice guys?

Attracted to Bad Boys, but best to settle down with a Mr Nice!!

You and relationships… do they work?

I find relationships very hard work, but I think that’s my fault to be honest. I don’t allow enough time for relationships, I get too wrapped up in my own life.

Favorite upcoming projects?

I’ve been in the studio working on my next track, which will be out early next year on Tidy Two Records. Also I’m touring New Zealand and Oz in January, all very exciting! New website coming soon too … www.djmissbehavin.co.uk

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully running my female dj agency from my laptop on my balcony somewhere hot.

Where are you from / live now?

London, UK.
