There is an enormous amount of video content online. With over 48 hours of video uploaded every minute to YouTube, you can bet you’ll be busy watching cats play with dolphins for as long as you’re willing. Should you, however, be willing to venture into educational waters, you may not know exactly where to find non-pet related video. Not to worry, below you’ll find a couple of sites with tons of documentaries that will not only explain why cats play with dolphins, but also why you care.
I was looking for all things Brian Cox when I came upon this site. DocumentaryStorm.com allows you to explore over 1600 documentaries online. It hadn’t fully occurred to me, until I saw this site, that documentary hubs like this existed. I knew that I could watch programs here and there, but nothing as elaborate as this one. You can spend many hours kicked back and relaxed, downloading interesting information from a variety of categories. The videos are embedded videos of files located elsewhere, so you may get a few dead links. If you really want to view that video, you can do a quick search on Google Video for a different link. New documentaries are added every Wednesday and Sundays.
A few weeks later, I came across DocumentaryHeaven.com. It’s similar in a lot of ways: Over 1500 documentaries are available to watch. The site is a bit easier to navigate, though it’s documentaries are listed per category. You can more efficiently navigate programs within particular sections. There’s also that nifty “turn off the lights” feature that dims the screen of your browser.
If you’re new to documentary watching, these two sites are a great place to find what your niche. Enjoy digging into the pile of information available to you. If you have no clue to where to start, click on “Random Documentary” on DocumentaryStorm.com. Perhaps you’ll happen upon a topic that thrills you. At the very least, you’ll have watched something besides kitty videos today.
