Citynet Magazine:  Where are you from?

Faye Stevenson: I’m originally from Barnsley but I now live in Mansfield.faye-1

How did you get into modeling?

I had a regular 9-5 job, had just turned 18 and the summer was coming up. I was bored of my routine and decided I would look online for some work abroad, when I put work abroad in Google, a flashy banner came up saying that an agency were looking for dancers to work in Italy. I’d never actually done any dance training but loved to dance in clubs, so I sent my pictures off, the next day they called to tell me I had been successful and a week later I was in Calabria south Italy. I was featured on several Italian music videos and it wasn’t long before I was asked to work on a few catwalk shows.

What’s your preferred type of modeling?

I love high fashion stuff just because you get to dress up really crazy. I also love glamour work.

What was your first big break?

When I left Italy and returned to the UK I decided I wanted to try my hand at glamour modelling. I sent a few pictures into Maxim magazine, they loved the pictures and decided to publish them in February 2005. They then asked me to appear in 4 other features that year. That paved the way for me to go on to be featured in other lads mags and was brilliant exposure!!

You’ve been in Maxim and FHM several times – how has that affected your career?

It’s been great for exposure. Also once you’ve been published a couple of times it seems to be easier to get a good agent and also you start to get interest from better photographers but it has also had its negative affects. I was disqualified from the Miss Nottingham competition for posing topless and sometimes it can put people off hiring me for fashion jobs.

What is it about modeling that excites you?

I think every girl loves to dress up and look pretty and for me modelling is just a way of capturing that feeling. Also, I love travelling and modelling has given me the opportunity to travel so far its taken me to Spain, Italy, Germany and the Dominican.

Single best experience modeling?

It was living in a model apartment in Milan. There were six of us all together all from different countries, we had loads of fun and I still keep in touch with a few of them now.

Worst experience?

A photographer tried to put his hand up my skirt when he was taking my picture so I punched him… not good!!!

Are you a big partier?

I’ve calmed down a lot now. I used to be really bad though. When I lived in Milan I was partying nearly every night in the VIP, and when I lived in Calabria I remember one night all the models and dancers drank far to much and we ended up naked in the sea.

Worst pick-up line used on you?

Are you tired coz you’ve been running through my mind all night. How old is that line? LOL, but surprisingly it’s still over used!!

Do you have a story about how you got away with something?

Not really. I’m too honest for my own good. If I ever do something wrong I always feel guilty and end up confessing!

Name anyone, alive or dead, who you would love to meet.

Paris Hilton. She looks like she would be good fun!!

Give a shout out to your fans.

Thanks to everyone who has checked out my site and especially to those that keep coming back for more!!

Upcoming projects?

I’m going to be featuring in Bizarre magazine again soon. I’m working on having my website updated with all my latest pictures on. Towards the end of next year – hoping to have the Official Faye Stevenson 2010 calenders on sale.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

As well as modelling, I also do a lot of work with the community, over the last couple of years I’ve acted as a representative for young people living in Mansfield and I hope I have a more active role in supporting this type of work.
