Vancouver Entrepreneur Alexandra Janicek

Citynet Magazine is proud to present Vancouver’s hottest talent: Alexandra Janicek. She models, acts, dances, plays musical instruments, does ballet, choreographs, runs an entertainment company (Voltage entertainment), and looks incredibly sexy in lingerie!

Citynet Magazine: Where are you from?

Alexandra Janicek:  I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Describe your younger years.

Growing up I was heavily involved in ballet so I didn’t do the normal high school stuff. I even missed my grad. As far as boys went, I didn’t take much notice in them till later… I think they thought I was kinda geeky to be honest.

How did you get into so many of the Arts?

Ballet started at a young age and so did the violin lessons. My mom pushed the dancing and my father got me into the violin, he’s a big classical music buff. Modeling started as my body started to change into a woman. I started with a bikini contest and it all flew from there!

How did you get to be the choreographer for Miss Molson Indy?

I was a contestant for 2 years in a row. They used a choreographer from Australia. I thought to myself I could so do this. So I pitched myself to the organizer telling him I can do it and to take a chance on me. I told him there was no need to pay someone from Australia to come out when i could do the same job being local. I have now been the national choreographer for the past 2 years for the miss Molson Indy in Toronto and Vancouver. This year there might be a contest in long beach California. I’m stoked!

What do you think of the Vancouver club scene?

Vancouver is an amazing city. There is nitelife here for anyone not matter what your into. Having worked lot’s in different clubs I can tell you the vibe is definitely there…

Greatest talent? Favorite talent?

My favorite talent is my dancing. My greatest is my violin playing. Violin came naturally to me but my passion was dance. If I was as good at dance as I am on the violin I’d be a well known dancer by now but unfortunately the passion wasn’t and isn’t there for violin.

What’s the deal with Voltage Entertainment?

About 3 years ago I started hip hop dancing in clubs and was asked if I knew any friends that did the same. Naturally I did through dance so I started there… it was just between friends. Different companies saw us and the work started coming. I tried to accommodate everything from dancers to spokesmodels. As I started taking on more jobs i started earning quite the income. So I decided to register my company. I thought go big or go home… it hasn’t slowed down since!

I have also been involved in numerous bikini contests. It was fun to participate but my eyes were more on the behind the scenes. So voltage entertainment now also provides event planning and coordination. Because I have been a contest and also am a dancer and choreographer I do well at organizing model searches and contests. Who better to organize it than someone who’s been there? I love it!

What’s the greatest risk you have ever taken?

I’m not a risk taker I’m far too logical. That’s one of my flaws I suppose…

Have you been recognized based on your ‘celebrity’ status?

Closest celebrity status is being asked for my autograph and people wanting to buy an autographed picture of me. I think it’s funny that they’d want a photo of me!! That and someone screaming Alex we love you at a car show… go figure.

Pet peeves?

People who are not on time! And people who lie.

What do you want the world to know about you?

That I’m not out to compete against anyone, only myself. I am genuinely happy for all my friends in the same business as me. I like to see people do well.

What’s the most common question that people ask you?

You must have a boyfriend don’t you? haha!

If you could have anything in the world, what would it be?

True love. And I’m being serious.

Thong vs. regular undies?

Thong. If i wear regular undies they just creep in anyways there would be no point.

Bad boys or nice guys?

Bad boy look… good guy inside.

What’s your policy on one night stands?

Wrap it up!

Any secret pleasures?

Hmmmmmmm too many to mention!

Would you describe yourself as more dominant or submissive in bed?

Submissive but only to someone who knows what they’re doing.

Favorite vacation spot?

Give me the hot sun and a nice beach and I’m happy.

It’s 12:01am. What are you doing?

Reading emails… and this is pretty funny cuz it’s 1202am as I type this. (freaky!)

A day spa. A flight in a F-15 fighter jet. Passionate animal-like sex. Choose one.

A day spa. I need to relax.

Did the British Columbia Lions Dance Team dancers hook up with the football players?

Not that I know of. We weren’t allowed to talk to the players at all. They kept us in different hotels as well when we were on the road. Tell us about 1-2 wild parties you have attended.

To be honest none really. Or at least I don’t consider them to be anything out of the ordinary!

Favorite upcoming projects?

You can see everything at AlexandraJanicek.com. In the middle of February I’m off to LA to do some photo shoots. I’m currently working on producing my own calendar. Indy is coming up as well…There’s just too much to mention but check out my web-site and come along for the ride!!!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Married with children… hey a girl can dream can’t she?
