Back in the day, I could often be found partying at hot spots like Club 737. It was among the most impressive clubs in Montreal, having been situated at the top of one the tallest and most iconic buildings in the city, Place Ville Marie. While its remarkable location offered far reaching views of the city, it declined in popularity and eventually shuttered its doors in 2013.
The latest iteration of the venue includes a revamped multi-level observation deck, complete with a 360 degree view of the city, an outdoor rooftop bar and terrace, mini-museum, and the newest location of noted restaurant and bar Les Enfants Terribles.
Montreal Observation Deck
Until now, the best places to experience Montreal from higher up included the Belvedere lookout on Mount Royal, the Olympic Stadium tower, or taking a helicopter ride over the city. With the updated space atop Place Ville Marie, anyone who isn’t afraid of heights will want to experience what it’s like to be on top of Downtown Montreal.
Should you go?
Yes! Whether you’re a local, tourist, on a family outing, hanging out with friends, or looking for a romantic place for a date, consider a visit to Au Sommet at Place Ville Marie.

The outdoor rooftop terrace is a great place to catch up with friends.

The main observation deck offers a 360 degree view looking down onto Downtown Montreal.

Dine year round at Les Enfants Terribles restaurant (it’s indoors) while marvelling at the view.
