I’ve been looking for a game that would allow me to see the galaxy and planets as they rotate in their solar system. Solar Flare has satisfied me like an American cheeseburger deep fried in liquid lard. The graphics are elegant and immersive.
You’re defending your planet from other hostile inhabited worlds orbiting a shared sun. Solar Flare demands you mount defensive and offensive structures while keeping an eye on your energy reserves, drifting asteroid and the proximity of enemy planets. You have full camera control and the special effects jive well with the suspenseful soundtrack.
If you’ve got a soft spot for the cosmos, an affinity for strategy and about 6 hours to kill, strap in for this compelling ride.
