M Salon is on a roll. Their second location recently opened at Nuns Island (Île-des-Sœurs) and we were there to check out the brand new decor and try it out for ourselves.
Inspired by the roaring success the Griffintown location of M Salon, with local celebrities and bloggers praising their new M cuts and manis, the owners and brothers, Laurent and Arie Benchetrit, are at it again, this time conquering Île-des-Sœurs, one blow dry at a time.
Located in Pointe-Nord, this second M Salon is, again, the very first in the area and sets the bar high in terms of beauty salons on the island.
This might be due to the impeccable style and savoir-faire of the staff, as well as the innovative products and services. We’re thinking of the MENicure, a custom hand-beautifying service for men, or the Maniglam, the exclusive line of custom nail gels created by the brothers. Clients also come for cuts, blow-outs and colours.

The finishing touches to a manicure.
The high-end style and vibe of the salon come paired with reasonable prices, making an afternoon at the salon a guilt-free treat. We were lucky to try out their mani service, and left with an edgy milky-white look.

M Salon is a hip place for men as well.
The residents of the neighbourhood had been eagerly awaiting this new addition to the area, and new clients were already rushing in for appointments. We predict as much success as at the initial location, if not more!

M Salon opens on Nuns Island.
While we were there, we met Melanie, one of the manicurists, who was knowledgeable with products and attentive. “This is a really exciting new beginning”, she told us. Given the awesome new spot they chose, we would be excited too!
Located in a New Innovative Community
Along with the new waterfront location of Les Enfants Terribles restaurant, Salon M is one of a handful of small businesses that were selected to be part of the Pointe-Nord property development on the northern tip of Îles-des-Sœurs. The brand new neighbourhood was entirely master-minded by urban planners and architects to recreate the feel of a family neighbourhood where people walk to the restaurant for brunch, know their local business-owners by name, and bump into their neighbours while they get their nails done.
The entire neighbourhood is certified LEED ND Gold for its environmental standards, which means the development uses sustainable energy sources in amazing technological-advanced ways. And with its green roofs and courtyards galore, this entirely walkable community really does feels like a small town.
So next time you are wondering what to do on a Sunday at Île-des-Sœurs, we suggest you wander down to Pointe-Nord and check out brunch at Les Enfants Terribles (the French toast is to die for), followed by a mani at M Salon, and a walk down the riverside. We promise, it’s nothing like the suburbs you think you know.
