L.A. Model Santana Rodriguez

The February 2009 spotlight is on model and national spokesmodel winner Santana Rodriguez! Check her out!

Citynet Magazine:  Where are you from?

Santana Rodriguez: I’m originally from Buffalo, NY and now reside in Los Angeles, CA.santana-3

How did you get into modeling?

I got into modeling when a photographer from a well known studio wanted to photograph me. My first break was when I appeared on the cover of a shoe catalogue. I did not expect to get the cover. What excites me about modeling is how different I can appear in each shoot with various styles of hair and make-up tricks. One change in eye make-up or hairstyle changes my whole appearance.

What’s the deal with the modeling fitness/spokesmodel competitions?

I wasn’t really into figure competitions. It was a cross between a fitness body and a model’s body… it was more like sportsmodel competitions. I found out about these fitness competitions when a guy approached me at the gym and persuaded me to join an upcoming one. I was so thankful to him because I placed 4th in my very first one, which motivated me to keep going. I’m glad I did because in 2003, I took a national title.

How did you get the idea to have your own calendars?

Actually, it was never my idea to have my own calendar. I was approached by a photographer when I won my national in 2003. He wanted to produce a calendar of me. I never believed him at first and he really came through.

What type of photoshoot would you love to do?

I would love to do a shoot where I’m in a sexy swimsuit and my hair and skin are all wet.

What do you think is your sexiest body part?

I would say the sexiest part of my body is my skin. I naturally have baby soft silky skin.

Favorite place to vacation?

My favorite place to vacation is the carribean. I love the crystal clear bath water and mangos… yummy!

What do you do in your downtime?

I love to be alone and read a book, while sipping on a glass of wine.

Give us a fun fact about you.

I can drive you crazy.

Best or worst pick-up line used on you?

The worst pick up line has been “Have you been waiting long? Because you can now stop, the man of your dreams is looking right at you.” The best pick up line was “Who is your mother? Because she had to be beautiful to create you.”

What’s the most common question that people ask you?

“What is your ethnicity…You are so exotic.”

Name anyone, alive or dead, who you would love to meet.

“I would love to have met my grandparents – they had passed early on.”

What do you want the world to know about you?

“I would love the world to know that I love them.”

Give a shout out to your fans…

Thank you for all the strength and support you’ve given me to accomplish all the things I’ve done. Couldn’t have done it without you.

Favorite upcoming projects?

Two plays coming up and a cover on a secret magazine. You will see it in less than 2 months.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself married in 5 years.
