Few things are more intimidating to men than approaching a girl at a bar. Yet, most girls head to bars in order to meet eligible men. Rare exceptions to this rule include married women who are out for a fun night, and women who are already in relationships. Even though the thought of approaching a girl might scare you, picking up a girl at a bar isn’t that complicated if you know a thing or two about striking up a good conversation.
Prepare Mentally and Physically
Before you decide upon a bar, make sure that you look the part of an eligible bachelor. This means impeccable grooming (get rid of any ear and nose hair, wash your face, and make sure to take a shower). It also means picking out a clean and attractive outfit. Think twice before grabbing your favorite t-shirt and baseball cap off of your bedroom floor.
Instead, look for a shirt that flatters your figure, and find pants that aren’t too tight or too lose. Women like men who look put together, so make your best effort. In addition, when you look great you also project confidence, and there are few things more attractive to women than men who ooze confidence.
Be Comfortable With Yourself
When you arrive at the bar, club, or lounge of your choice, try and act as comfortable as possible. Even if you have never been to a particular place before, do your best to look as though you frequent the place all the time. Act with ease, sip your drink, and scope out the room.
Girls like men who look like they belong. While you don’t have to be the only alpha male in the bar, you should attempt to look like you are happy, well adjusted, and enjoying your night out. It also helps to know some important signs.
Know the Signs
A girl who is interested in you will let you know. If a girl catches your eye a few times and smiles at you repeatedly, it’s time to approach the girl in question. Simply walk up to the girl who you have noticed, say “hello,” and ask her if you can buy her a drink. You will know right away if the girl you are interested in is your type.
One last piece of advice: don’t be afraid to approach a group of girls. You might have to work harder to gain the attention of a girl in a group, but if you act charming and sincere, you will gain her approval quickly.
