Over the last few years, the one vegetable that I’ve heard about more than any other food has to be kale. The health benefits of this leafy vegetable are seemingly endless if you listen to some.
You can buy kale at the local market in its “raw” state along with other veggies sitting on the hydrated platform or in boxes which blend it. One popular mix is the red, green, and Tuscan kale. Either way, it’s a very popular choice among health advocates these days.
What makes kale so healthy?
Kale is considered to be one of the most nutrient-rich foods on the planet. It has a range of vitamins such as K, A, and C (although personally, I also suggest taking vitamin D on a daily basis). It’s high in antioxidants, fibre (good for improving digestion) and folic acid while being low on calories, fat, carbs and sodium. Apparently, it also helps lower cholesterol levels on your blood and there are many other claims behind it ranging from alleviating symptoms of arthritis to Alzheimer’s Disease.
