Montreal Hot Air Balloon Festival Sneak Peek
It’s often called the Montreal Hot Air Balloon Festival but its official name is The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu (International de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu). Taking place just south of Montreal each August, it’s the largest festival of its kind in Canada.
More Than Just Balloons
The festival itself is much more than just balloons. From August 8-14, there will be an array of activities in the area. While the balloons take flight every evening, there are concerts to attend, children’s areas, an SAQ bistro, balloon pilot meet and greets, rides, and more.
Hot Musical Acts
This year, Meghan Trainor, Moist, Our Lady Peace, Shawn Mendes, and others will perform on the stage next to the hot air balloon launch area.
