The August 2010 interview is with fitness trainer and bikini model Marzia Prince. We think she is the hottest personal trainer on the planet. She’s beauty, brains, and can kick your behind harder than any babe you know! Who wouldn’t want to get in shape knowing that her smile will be your reward! Citynet Magazine proudly presents Marzia Prince.
Where are you from?
I am an Air Force brat, so I grew up all over. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska. I lived in Zaragoza, Spain from 8-15 years old. Then it was back to the US! When I moved back to the US from Europe it was definitely a culture shock. We moved to the bible belt-Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Then I decided to venture out on my own and I moved to the BIG D! I now live in Dallas, Texas. I absolutely love it here. This is home. My heart belongs to Texas!
How did you get into modeling?
It all happened really by chance. I didn’t seek out to become a model. I was a fitness trainer that went to do a photo shoot because I was in the best shape of my life. I wanted to capture me at my physical best. The photographer thought I was very photogenic and asked if he could put my images on his website. (I didn’t know I was photogenic at the time, it was my first professional shoot!) I was flattered and said sure, why not! It was then that Gaspari Nutrition discovered me and you could say the rest is history!
What’s the most exciting part of being a bikini & fitness model?
Being a fitness model in my 30’s! I started at 31 years old! I will be 36 soon! I still can’t believe that I became a fitness model in my 30’s. I am grateful that I can be a role model for women of my age! I have learned that age is really a number. I no longer think 30, 40, or 50 is old. It is all about taking care of yourself and enjoying the moment. So, for every job that I get, I am very thankful! (For example… like this interview!)
What major experiences have influenced your career?
Winning the 2007 Ms. Bikini Universe at 32 years old influenced my career! It was a few modeling jobs here and there before I entered this pageant, but after I won this title, every major magazine was knocking on my door! Crazy!
What is a typical work-out and/or daily routine needed to maintain your hot body?
Ha! Trust me, you don’t want to know! I am very athletic. I have been almost all my life. My workouts always change depending on what’s going on in my career or what personal goals I want to reach. If they need me more muscular, I do bodybuilding (my personal record on the leg press is 568 lbs. 5 sets of 5 reps!) If they want me leaner, then I circuit train with plyometrics and yoga. I just love a physical challenge! I still want to run a half marathon and do the P90X challenge!
What would you recommend to people who want to lose weight but haven’t worked out in years?
Start slow. The beginning is the hardest. Don’t give up!! Once you pass the hard part, I promise it will get easier. It takes time to get in the swing of things, but once you do, you will love how you feel and look! That will be enough motivation to keep going. When you have reached a goal, set another goal. You need constant motivation to keep going. I even do as a fitness model. If I don’t change things up, my body will plateau and I get bored. I always set new fitness goals all the time.
Your sexiest body part?
My little waist, glutes, and legs. I work really hard to keep them tight. When I was younger these were my best features and I never had to work at them. But as my metabolism started slowing down with age, they became my worst features. I have learned how to control my nutrition and change my workouts to keep everything tight. I have to say with each year that passes by, the harder it gets to maintain my physique. I have to put in double time compared to what I used to do! No room for error these days!
Do you have any pets?
I have three dogs. (I call them my furry lil kids.) Their names are Playboy, Rockstar, and Paris! They have the greatest personalities! They needed some wild names to match their personalities! Every time I check them into the pet hotel when I go out of town, the ladies who work the facility call them “The Divas!”. I can’t believe my dogs have a reputation! LOL! (So are they saying my dogs are high maintenance?).
Name one thing you would bring with you if you were stranded on a deserted island.
Hmmm… one item… probably my husband! I think you know why, the company! LOL! I am not going alone!
You win the lottery. What do you do with the money?
Love this question since I do play the lottery and thought about it many times. It seems like a cliché thing to say, but I would pay off my bills, travel the world, buy some creature comforts for myself and loved ones, and give some to my favorite charities!
You’re incredibly stunning and fit. Have people made it more difficult for you to succeed because of those factors?
Thank you! I don’t think so. If they have, I don’t pay attention. I cut off the negative people in my life and thrive with the positive ones. I think with age you don’t let things bother you like you did when you were younger. I see life and people differently now. I am much more patient and think things through these days.
How old were you when you first discovered that men would melt in your presence?
LOL! I am very modest. I was an ugly duckling for a loooooong time before I got out of my shell. I was about 28 years old. I was taking care of myself better at this age. My nutrition and fitness were on point which gave me confidence. I was becoming a woman and was in control of my life! I can’t believe even with me at 35 men still do!
Tell us at least one thing every man should know.
One thing? I could tell you many things they should know! But, if there was one thing, it would be that women love men to be a gentleman. Whether you know them or not! A good gentleman is hard to find these days. I am lucky to have married mine! He is a good old Texas boy. Great manners and a good heart. He has so much respect for me and I adore that quality. I went through many frogs or toads I should say, to find my prince! They do exist!
What’s the most common question that people ask you?
Well, seeing how I am in great shape, the first thing people ask is “What do you do to look like that?” Like there is a secret or something! LOL! I would be rich if there was a secret! There is no secret, it’s good old fashion wholesome nutrition and working out! You just have to do it. You know the old saying “Eat less, move more”? That pretty much sums it up! You can’t expect to eat what you want and not work out to have a great body. If you do, you’re a genetic freak! Lucky you! But for someone like me, I have to work at it every day. It’s not easy!
Is there a specific celebrity you would want to meet?
I am not really a star struck type of person. There are many people who I would love to meet for different reasons. I couldn’t just name one. A couple people who come to mind right now would be actress Alicia Silverstone and vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke. Both are fascinating people for different reasons. I have so much respect for what both of them do to help the environment.
What would you like to tell your fans?
I just would like to thank everyone for your support. Keep the emails coming! I love hearing from you!
Best upcoming projects?
I have my own Marzia Prince Bikini Body Workout CD on itunes. I will personally coach you through your hour workout. Want to know how I got this body? There are also free downloadable workout podcast as well. I will be taking on the P90X challenge video blog/show on my website documenting everything. So, you can watch me or laugh at me! It will be great entertainment. Who knows, you just might get off the couch and be motivated yourself! I will be also hosting my own nutrition show as well! You can follow me on my Twitter page!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Having my own book, hosting my own healthy nutrition show on TV, writing for a fitness/nutrition magazine having a hot body at 41 years old (That’s how old I will be!), having children (not just furry ones), and being a great wife to my husband!
