Model Heather Kaye

Model Heather Kaye

This month, the amazing newcomer actress and model Heather Kaye is featured in this exclusive interview.

Where do you call home?
Aiken, South Carolina is my true hometown, but right now Charleston, SC is home for me.

What’s your family background?
I grew up in the country with my brother, mom and dad. My entire extended family lived within 15 minutes of me and we got (and still get) together for every holiday, birthday, any excuse to eat, drink, and be merry!

What school do you attend?
I attend the College of Charleston. I am a senior Communication Studies major.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be famous… not much has changed!

How did you decide to begin modeling?
It all started with someone telling me that I looked unique and should think about modeling. I took their advice to heart and applied to be on America’s Next Top Model. Although I wasn’t selected to be on the show, I got a ton of positive attention throughout the process which encouraged me to submit myself to modeling agencies, arrange photo shoots, and network with people in the business. Everything happened extremely fast.

Any notable modeling or acting gigs so far?
I am in a Dead Battery Anxiety commercial for Philips Electronics. I was also in a Charleston car commercial. As far as modeling goes, I haven’t done any notable print work yet, but I’m sure I will be doing something very soon. My modeling career just started at the end of August!

How does it feel to be the 100th Diva of the Month?
The 100th Diva, wow, it feels great! Being the 100th is kind of special… like the anniversary Diva! I’ve seen the other Divas and they are all really impressive. I’m honored that y’all think I am Diva worthy!!!

How do you balance modeling with student life?
This is really tough! I am always putting modeling first… which isn’t good! For example, I am doing this interview when I should be studying. That being said, I manage to get it all done. I have to remind myself that I am STILL a student (until May 2011 anyway) and I need to finish out my senior year strong!

Can you live without a mobile device by your side?
NO NO NO NO NO! I have a Droid Incredible and it is my LIFE! I get my email, Facebook, and Twitter alerts on my phone. It is important that I am constantly updated so that I can self-market myself effectively!

Give us a fun fact about you.
I am a tech nerd! I made a video on YouTube about the Droid Incredible and it has gotten over 17,000 views.

Are you into sports?
Not as much as I should be considering I am the ice host for the Stingray hockey team in Charleston. I did really enjoy watching the World Cup though… always have to support your country, you know!

Are you more of a guy’s girl or a girl’s girl?
Guy’s girl definitely… it’s because I have a gross ‘guy’ sense of humor.

Do you have a story about how you got away with something? If so, spill it!
I don’t ever get away with anything! Seriously, I always get caught… ever since I was younger. I am a horrible liar and not very sneaky.

What’s your favorite drink?
I’m not really a big drinker… so my knowledge of types of drinks is kind of limited, but out of everything I’ve tried my favorite drink is sugar-free redbull and Jäger… as a drink not as a shot. It just tastes so good!

Best or worst pick-up line used on you?
I personally think this was the best line that’s been used on me:

Guy said, “Did you fart?”
I replied in disgust, “Ugh, no!!!”
And he said, “Because you just blew me away”
…I died laughing and we talked for the rest of the night!

I told you…I have sick humor.

Describe your wildest party experiences.
I am not a big partier actually. However, I do know how to have a good time when I go out. My wildest experience occurred during a pageant and isn’t party related whatsoever! I decided to go commando since my dress was white and the other contestants told me you could see my panty line. I accidentally gave the judges a show! OOPS. I still got 1st Runner Up and Miss Congeniality in that pageant though!

What’s the most common question that people ask you?
What is your ethnicity?” and “Are you Asian?”

Who would you love to meet?
This is a tough one, there are so many people that I would love to hang out with, but if I had to chose just one… hmm, probably Kanye West. I know, I know… he has a bad rap, but he is a lyrical genius! Plus, after hearing Aziz Ansari explain his experience with Kanye I don’t know who wouldn’t want to hang out with him! Kanye is great at what he does! His last project Runway was so inspiring. I think it would be awesome to pick his brain plus getting the VIP treatment when we go out places would be AWESOME.

Favorite upcoming projects?
I am going to try to be a Maxim Hometown Hottie this year so everyone should definitely go look up “South Carolina” whenever they start the competition and VOTE FOR ME! I am doing a lingerie shoot in December that I am SUPER excited about as well.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I will be 26. Oh my gosh! When I am 26, I want to be a Victoria Secret Angel and an actress living out at Palos Verdes, CA with a great view of the ocean!
