The Montreal Burlesque Festival Review

The Montreal Burlesque Festival Review

The Montreal Burlesque Festival just announced that they’re looking for talent to fill this year’s roster. The event is still months away but it’s one to put into your calendar.

The sixth edition of the festival was held at Club Soda. The three-night event hosted a range of talented burlesque acts, many of which came from other cities and countries just to perform. The festival was founded by Scarlett James who remains a key figure in the Montreal burlesque scene, both on and off stage.

I must say that I really enjoyed the creativity behind the acts. One act just featured legs performing in a short, entertaining skit. Another involved a burlesque dancer painting her outfit onto a board while she was wearing it. Several acts included a live singing portion which was excellent. The entire show was well worth it.

This year’s show, the seventh edition, takes place October 15th through the 17th. There’s also a burlesque brunch on the 18th.
