Montreal Comiccon 2024 Guests
This year’s lineup is packed with stars from your favourite sci-fi, horror, and superhero universes. Whether you’re a fan of classic slasher films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or beloved TV series, love unique artistry, collect comic books and related items, this event has you covered! There’s just so much to this massive event that you need to experience it to understand how much fun it is! Here’s a preview of what to expect.
Star Trek & Sci-Fi Legends in the House
In previous year, different Star Trek characters have made their way to Montreal Comiccon. Some notable interviews we’ve done in past years include Michael Dorn (Worf), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi), Nicole De Boer (Ezri Dax). Of course, you can find more Star Trek interviews and articles in Citynet Magazine.
This year, Montreal Comiccon presents Brent Spiner (Data from “Star Trek: The Next Generation”), Michael Dorn finally returning to Montreal, and Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) who will bring the final frontier closer than ever. Hot off their recent appearances in the Picard TV show which was like an extra season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Don’t miss the chance to interact with these iconic Starfleet officers!
Marvel / MCU, Star Wars, and Superhero Stars
Comic book and superhero fans will rejoice with appearances by Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin from “Daredevil”) and Giancarlo Esposito (Stan Edgar from “The Boys” and Moff Gideon from “The Mandalorian”). Let’s not forget that he was Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. Plus, catch Dallas Liu from “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and Ray Park (Darth Maul from “Star Wars” and Toad from “X-Men”).
Animation and Voice Acting Heroes
Voice actors like Cal Dodd (Wolverine from “X-Men ‘97”) and George Buza (Beast from “X-Men: The Animated Series”) will be on hand to share behind-the-scenes stories from your favourite animated series.
Celebrating Alan Tudyk
Alan Tudyk is a standout guest, known for his versatile roles in sci-fi and fantasy. Tudyk gained fame as Wash in “Firefly” but has also played other amazing roles such as K-2SO in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and Mr. Nobody (Eric Morden) in the “Doom Patrol” TV series. His contributions to TV include “Resident Alien” and voice roles in animated series such as “Big Hero 6: The Series” and “Young Justice.” Tudyk’s unique ability to bring humour and depth to his characters makes him a beloved figure in the genre.
Insights from “The 100”
In previous editions of Montreal Comiccon, stars of “The 100” including Eliza Taylor (Clarke on The 100) and Bob Morley (The 100’s Bellamy Blake) made appearances. This year, it’s time for Henry Ian Cusick, known for his role as Marcus Kane. He will delve into the dystopian world of this gripping series. Cusick’s portrayal of Kane, a complex leader navigating a post-apocalyptic Earth, added significant depth to the show’s narrative. Fans will have the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts of the show’s production and behind-the-scenes stories.
Meet Comic Book Legend Jim Shooter
Attendees can also meet incredible influences in the comic book world, such as Jim Shooter. Starting his career at just 13, Shooter quickly rose to prominence, becoming Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief at 27. He oversaw some of the most iconic storylines in comic history, including “Secret Wars” and revitalized the “Legion of Super-Heroes.” Shooter’s tenure is notable for introducing creator royalties, managing major crossover events, and influencing a generation of comic book storytelling.
Horror Icons Unite!
Robert Englund, the man behind the terrifying Freddy Krueger from “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” will be there to give fans chills and thrills. Joining him are Heather Langenkamp and Amanda Wyss, his co-stars from the same series, ensuring a nostalgic reunion for horror enthusiasts.
