If you are anything like I am, then you probably crave the opportunity to hit the slopes in Dubai. Living in a tropical country with hot temperatures is great, but every once in a while it’s nice to cool down, rather than to bake in the hot sun. Every time I want cold weather and tons of fun, the first place that I think of going is Dubai. Dubai has everything that I want and more. Even though it is smack in the middle of a desert, I never have to wait for the holidays to ski. If you really want a fun skiing experience, go skiing in Dubai! There are beautiful properties in Dubai that offer year-round skiing and a fantastic winter wonderland experience. This is just another fine example of the diversity in Dubai. There is always something to do!
Ski Dubai is situated in the world renowned Mall of Emirates. It is one of the most famous entertainment places in Dubai, and I always have a great time whether I am on a holiday getaway on my own, or with family and friends. After taking to the slopes, I can shop until I drop at all of the great stores and speciality boutiques that are located in the mall. Ski Dubai is a creatively designed structure and one of the most amazing places to be when I want to get out of the hot sun to have a fun day playing in the snow. It is a one-of-a-kind activity that everyone simply has to try out. It offers sheer enjoyment and tons of hours of fun. I totally enjoy playing in the snow, snowboarding, skiing, and tobogganing.
Dubai offers great snowboarding, extreme fun in the 90 meter long pipe known as the Freestyle Zone, and other laid back winter fun activities such as building snowmen, creating snow angels, or having snowball fights. Everything that I need to have a winter holiday in style is right here in Dubai. The thing that I love the most about going to Ski Dubai is that I don’t even have to pack! They have ski equipment, helmets, ski parkas, boots, socks, and any other ski equipment or gear that I need for affordable rental rates. I simply show up ready to ski in my regular clothing, and I’m weaving my way down the slopes in no time at all. A full day pass for myself and a guest of my choice only costs $75, so I can have a great entertainment packed winter weekend without breaking the bank.
When I go to Ski Dubai, I don’t always hit the slopes. There are plenty of fun things to do at the Snow Park as well, and the snow park is often a better choice if I have my family along. It offers great fun, but a little less on the extreme side. There are activities for both children and adults, so it is the perfect location to spend quality time together. I always come prepared when I visit the snow park. There is an entry fee to get in, so we always make sure to make prior arrangements for lunch and other things, because once we leave the park we can’t get back in without paying another entry fee. The fee for the slopes is based on 2 hours of ski time, but we can pay an additional fee for every hour that we go over. Ski lessons are available, so the venue provides an all-around great weekend experience.
The building that houses Ski Dubai is designed in a futuristic style, which totally pushes the boundaries of design. It looks like an alien spaceship ready for launch off and has a massive 22,500 square meters of indoor ski area space. It is a part of the Mall of the Emirates, one of the biggest shopping malls in the world that was designed by Majid Al Futtaim. After a fun day of skiing and snowboarding, I typically relax with a nice meal at either the St. Moritz Café, or the Avalanche Café. Both of these eateries provide a lovely view of the slopes while patrons eat. Safety is always first at the slopes. I am always cautious about keeping an eye out for others so that I don’t get run over or hit anything, and I always make sure that anyone I take either knows how to ski or takes lessons that are available at the venue.
