31 Days of Horror Recap: The Best & Worst Horror Movies

31 days of watching horror movies does something to a man. My eyes are worse for wear, my personal hygiene’s gonna take another few weeks to recuperate and I’m certain that I “accidentally” allowed my 3 year old daughter to watch at least seven R rated movies. As long as her mother doesn’t find out about that last one, I’d say I mostly came out unscathed.

Since it’s all over, I thought it would be a good idea to go through my list to recap the ones I liked and the ones I didn’t.

Highly Recommended

I decided to put these in order of the ones I thought were the best.

  1. Rigor Mortis
  2. Rabies
  3. Witching & Bitching
  4. Afflicted
  5. 100 Bloody Acres
  6. The Strange Color of Your Body’s Tears
  7. Proxy
  8. The Seasoning House
  9. Creep
  10. Citadel
  11. Summer of Blood

Did the same ordering for these ones.

  1. The Canal
  2. Honeymoon
  3. Berberian Sound Studio
  4. Omnivores
  5. Contracted
  6. Would You Rather
  7. Blood Lake: Attack of the Killer Lampreys
  8. Out of the Dark
  9. Thale

Not Recommended

These films are all bad, but the worst of the bunch would have to be Altar.

Even though it’s on this list, I would rewatch Deep in the Darkness since it was so very, very, very bad on a whole other level. The kind I actually like.

Who knows if I’ll ever be able to accomplish another movie marathon like this, but if I do, I hope to find as many good movies as I did this time around.
